Sourced from a single block of Riesling planted in 1971. The fruit is harvested in the early hours of the morning, pressed to tank keeping only the free run juice for this wine. No fining agents were used and mid palate texture was enhanced by sometime on yeast lees.
A classic cool climate growing season with ample rainfall and cold temperatures was followed by a dry and sunny autumn. The result being a slow, even ripening with tremendous flavour development at low sugar levels.
Brilliant quartz white with emerald flecks.
Vibrant and delicate yet intense. Flavours of pink grapefruit and kaffir lime wrapped around a focused and linear backbone of sherbety acidity.
Whilst ready to drink now, this wine will gain in complexity over the next eight to ten years.
